This is an organization that develops timely, relevant, open standards for the display and display interface industry, ensuring interoperability and encouraging innovation and market growth. They make sure that TV manufacturers and mount manufacturers develop products that work together. VESA sizes are always measured in metric so a 400 X 400 hole pattern means 400 millimeters by 400 millimeters..
  
  Make sure you check your TV's manual to see what your VESA hole pattern is before you buy any mount.

• Weight and size of your TV monitor
  Weight is actually becoming less of an issue as TV manufacturers produce thinner and lighter TV's. Here at Kanto we are constantly changing our product line up to accommodate these changes. However, if you have an older TV, such as a plasma, then it is going to be fairly heavy so you should check the weight.
  
  On newer TV's the VESA hole pattern on the back of the TV will be a more significant constraint than the size or weight of the TV.
